He is a United States Equestrian Federation "R" judge and has officiated major horse shows across the country. He has served on the Nominating Committee for the Board of Directors of the American Saddlebred Registry and currently serves on the Breeders Committee for the American Saddlebred Registry. | Profile: | A Wisconsin native, Karen moved to Kentucky in 1981 and met the American Saddlebred horse through Zubrod Stables in 1982. She worked as Office Manager for the American Saddlebred Horse Association from 1984 to 1988, coordinating their move from Louisville to their new headquarters at the Kentucky Horse Park in 1985. In March of 1988, Karen was hired by the UPHA as their Executive Secretary. Karen lives in Georgetown, KY, with her husband and three Jack Russell Terriers. She also has a Saddlebred mare who will be delivering her first foal this spring. |

| Profile: | Kristen Cater, along with her husband David, is the owner and manager of Cater Stables, located in Dunbarton, NH. Kristen has over 20 years of experience showing Saddle Horses and over 10 years of experience training American Saddlebreds, Morgans, and Hackney Ponies. She has been an active member of UPHA 14 for almost 10 years, volunteering time and effort on the UPHA 14 Spring Premiere Horse Show Committee and many of its fundraising activities. Most recently, Kristen was voted by her peers to serve as the UPHA 14 Chapter Chairman. She also currently serves her chapter as the Young Trainers’ Committee Chairman and the National Association as an advisor for the Pink Ribbon effort. Kristen is a USEF Licensed Judge and has been honored to judge the equitation divisions at shows such as Lexington Junior League in 2008. She will also be judging the Morgan World Championships in October 2009. |
