Pink Night at The Indianapolis Charity Horse Show

In 2009 Chapter 11 organized the Pink Ribbon Class at the Indianapolis Charity Horse Show.  On the day of the class we offered Pink Lemonade for donations at the Lemonade Stand and sold Pink balloons to the stables.  We would like to thank Nancy and Kelsey Herbert for manning the stand and walking the aisles to sell balloons.

Wednesday through Friday numbered pink ducks were sold.  The grand prize was a Pink Scooter donated by Linda Lewis.  Second prize was a custom shirt and vest donated by Becker Brothers.  Third prize was a print by artist James Walls and donated by him.  We would like to thank Debbie Ecksten for putting this fundraiser together and to DeLovely's young riders for selling the ducks.

When the final total was tallied on Friday evening our great group of volunteers raised $3,000.  Thanks to everyone who helped to make this a success!

Nothing But The Truth -Three volumes of stories and memories shared by many of our friends in the horse community.

Sandra McIntosh was searching for an idea for an item for our annual Chapter Silent Auction.  She decided to go around and ask trainers for funny stories.  The book, put together at Kinkos, was such a hit at our auction that the chapter decided to purchase the book and publish it to raise funds for the chapter.

Sandra had no idea what she was getting herself into.  The chapter voted for her to do two more books for 2007 and 2008.  Many probably remember her walking around with the tape recorder asking for a story.  These "little silver books" as they have often been called have been a huge hit.  In the last three years we have sold over 824 books!

We would like to thank Sandra for all of the long hours she has put into these books.

UPHA Chapter 11 Winter Academy Tournaments

Annual Silent Auction

Each year our chapter conducts a silent auction during the All American Classic Horse Show.  This money helps fund our annual projects and UPHA Classics classes held in Indiana.  The auction in 2009 raised $2,300.
