UPHA Pink Ribbon Class

UPHA proudly introduces its program to help horse shows engage communities, showcase our show horses, and raise much-needed funds for breast cancer research, awareness, and treatment: the UPHA Pink Ribbon Class.
After the inaugural class at the 2007 UPHA American Royal National Championship Horse Show raised more than $16,000 and received enthusiastic support from the Royal attendees and Kansas City community, UPHA organized this program so that horse shows across the United States could participate in the effort, as well. And, we’ve set a goal: to raise $100,000 for this important cause.
Horse shows are asked to designate the Ladies Five Gaited Championship for American Sadddlebreds or Ladies English Pleasure Championship for Morgan horses (or stake/qualifier classes, if the championships are not held) as the UPHA Pink Ribbon Class. And, horse shows may select a local breast cancer organization to receive up to 50% of the funds raised for the UPHA Pink Ribbon Class, or forward all funds raised to be donated to a nationally known breast cancer research and information center, through the UPHA Foundation, Inc. (a 501c3 organization).

We’ve created a UPHA Pink Ribbon Class Toolkit – a DVD that contains tips and strategies, forms and invitations, announcer’s script, press releases, promotion materials, a video of the inaugural Pink Ribbon Class, and much more – to help your horse show make your UPHA Pink Ribbon Class as successful as possible. Your horse show may receive one, free of charge, by request. (One per horse show, please.)

Receive a free trophy, prize ribbons, and UPHA Associate Membership for your horse show’s class winners
There’s more: UPHA will furnish 1 elegant winner’s trophy and 8 beautiful pink prize ribbons for your horse show’s UPHA Pink Ribbon Class. And, the winning rider will receive a UPHA Associate Membership (a $50 value) if she is not already a UPHA member.

Together, we can help ride for the cures to breast cancer, a disease that affects 1 in 8 women … together, we can have a greater impact on fighting the disease, and more visibility for our breed of horses.
United we stand, divided we fall.
