Trainers - Young Professionals
About Young Professionals:The UPHA Young Professionals Committee was established by members of the UPHA who recognized the need for an organization that included young horse professionals age 35 and under. The program was designed to support the same objectives and initiatives as the UPHA, while allowing younger members to participate and have an active voice in the organization.
Since its inception, the Young Professionals Committee has evolved to include one Committee Chairman, a Committee Vice Chairman and 6 Regional Representatives. These 6 members work together and individually in their specific regions of the country to promote the UPHA and work on a variety of fundraising efforts that support the UPHA.
Each year a member is selected to receive the UPHA Young Professional of the Year Award:
2009 Ray Krussell
2008 Kristen Cater
2007 Clark Clouse
2006 Tre Lee
2005 Tom Lowry
2004 Smith Lilly

UPHA Bowling Challenge
We are looking forward to a return of the Bowling Challenge in the fall. This fun event, which last year coincided with Halloween, was a great success in raising money for the UPHA Dewey Henderson Benevolent Fund.
UPHA Classics Raffle
Once again, the Young Professionals Committee is putting together a raffle to benefit the UPHA Classics. The drawing will be for a Freedman's saddle of your choice at the American Royal on Thursday, November 18, 2010 -- the night of the Classics Grand Championships and the Classics Incentive Sale. The tickets will be priced at $20.
2010 World Cup
The committee is assisting with the recruitment of horses for the 2010 Saddle Seat World Cup, to be hosted in conjunction with the Kentucky Fall Classic Horse Show at the Shelby County Fairgrounds in October. The success of the event is dependent on our ability to supply the best possible pool of outstanding horses for use during the competition.
